Step 1: Enable Facebook Messenger
You can set this up by clicking on Settings from your Facebook Business page. In the General sections tab, selecting Messages and selecting the button to Enable Changes.

Step 2: Create Your Username.
You may have already completed this step if you followed our first guide on creating a facebook business page.
You can find your Username underneath your Profile Picture. Click on the username that has been automatically created by Facebook. Once you click on that, a new screen will come up, where you can enter a Username for your Business.

Step 3: Add Message Me Button on your page.
Buttons are a great way to help people take an action. People see it on your Page and in search results when your Page appears.
Here is to add a Send Message button on your page:
- Click on the +Add a Button under your page’s cover photo
- Click on Contact You from the list
- Selecte Messenger

Step 4: Automate your messaging by showing a greeting
Adding some automation to your Facebook Messenger is a great way to show your customers that you are there for them.
Here are the steps to enable and set up Automatic Greeting for Messenger:
- Go to your page’s General Settings and select Messaging
- Scroll down and enable Show a Messenger Greeting
- You can edit the default greeting by clicking Change
- Add your own personalization to your greeting message by clicking on Add Personalization
- When you are done and happy with your changes click Save

- Go to your page’s General Settings and select Messaging
- Scroll down and select Set up Automated Responses
- Select Away Messages
- To edit the message, select Edit and customize the message to fit your business needs
- Select the time that you will be away and click Save.

Step 7: Create Frequently Asked Questions
Setting up frequently asked questions, is a great way to automate your business because your customers can get answers to common questions right away.
Here are the steps to set up FAQs:
- Go to your page’s General Settings and select Messaging
- Scroll down and select Set up Automated Responses
- Select Frequently Asked Questions
- To edit the message, select Edit and customize your questions
- You can add up to 4 FAQs.
- Click Save.
